SKC 163rd/164th Championship shows

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 8:27 PM

(MsGaynor Teh & MsLinda Foo's Starlark Masterpiece of Meadow Valley)

Stack em' up!!!

Well i think most would say that the skc show wasnt too good and big this time around.

  • But on the other hand guess it gives the skc and kallang leisure park a little more exposure now, having its shows on 2days and in a public arena.
  • Don't think id be able to take all those pics of the sighthounds at the expo as they'll probably be stacked much farther off and much closer to the prize receiveing area.
  • Enuf said then...its kinda positive that SKC rotate their venues once in a whilst.

Labrador Reserve

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 8:16 PM

Labrador Nature Reserve has historical monuments and war relics from not only World War II but much earlier as 1825.Due to this Labrador reserve is very much in the history books of Singapore.
As everyone now nows. The fort as well as that on Sentosa island was almost of no importance during the war...as the Japanese came from the Northern coast instead...through Thailand and Malaya.

  • The job of the fort then was only to provide a place for shelter and ammunition storage for the British troops.
  • It was also near where the Battle of Pasir Panjang took place.

Managed to spot wildlife as well...mainly spiders, butterflies and coastal birds, also spotted a monitor lizard by the shoreline.

The Armenian Church...since 1835

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 10:17 PM

The Church St. Gregory, the Illuminator and first monk of the Armenian Church and now better known to many as The Armenian church was first built on 1835.But has work on the church coincidently perhaps started on the 1st January as well...Simply amazing to these all those statues reenacting the stations of the cross.Espcially the one with cross all overwhlemed by the weight of the cross.Had a good oppurtunity to work with prime lens once again but i guess its true colours still at best shines under lowlight conditions.

Showdogs...and little mr bean

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 9:18 AM
Can one really find sincerety at a dogshow?Well im not talking about people who are also pet dog owners.People who actually show dogs and possibly even have the same breed/or grouped dog as similar to yours.Well no one can read minds(well at least not anyone i know...haha).Reactions,facial expressions and and topics brought about in conversations.Perhaps out of 10 showdog people perhaps only a quarter are sincere.
Thats like 2 or 3 out of 10.
Why,Is this so?not sure. Its sorta like they're hobby or maybe sorta like a job.So ya,they're taking it seriously.I guess having a certified or pedigree dog changes ones perception of the word...DOG.You'll pay attention to breed standards then...in picking a dog of your choice. And yes even paying closer attention to breed standards of other peoples dogs.Haha.Thats that...and yeah of course show dog people are always going to argue and say...that theyre trying to bring out the best in the breed.
One just cant expect to get evrything the best in life...do not think that i will ever show dogs or even have a pedigree certified dog.I love the sighthounds...and especially the greys, whippets and ig.God has been good to me...wanted a greyhound or whippet so badly but had no other choice but to settle for an ig.Like i said...god has been good to me.He gave me Caesar...the closest thing to a greyhound.Where in blue blazers did this fella come from??haha.Probably dropped out of the sky like Mr Bean.

Good Friday

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 3:15 PM

Good Friday, (Holy Friday),is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. It commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
At the church of St Joseph a yearly procession commerates the death of christ and the removal of body his body from the cross upon calvary.Saint Veronica possesion of christ veil is revealed during the procession.(Saint Veronica or Berenice, was a pious woman of Jerusalem who, moved with pity as Jesus carried his cross to Golgotha, gave him her veil that he might wipe his forehead. Jesus accepted the offering and after using it handed it back to her, the image of His face miraculously impressed upon it. )

Posted by Frois-Naidu on 9:44 PM

Originally called "Tiger Balm Gardens", was constructed in 1937 by the brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the developers of Tiger Balm, as a venue for teaching traditional Chinese values.

The most interesting exhibits is of course the Ten Courts of Hell, featuring the ten steps of judgement before reincarnation. The thing is did soem reserach on the web and found there to be 18 steps actually. Most of the exhibits are still in fairly good conditio, had exhibit still possess great detail inspite the parks demise in the early 90s.Noticed 2 haw par workers actualli doing some restoration(painting) works on the

The park has a collection of over 1,000 statues and 150 giant tableaux all based on Chinese folklore, legends, history, and Confucian ideology
