Recently had a chance to visit the Hunters and Collectors : Origins of Sountheast Asia at ACM.Was suprised to find a large number of exhibits espcially those of preserved fauna part of the special exhibition, most of which were part of the The National Museum previously known as Raffles Museum.
The entire historical collection(not viewed here) of the former Raffles Museum, founded 1849 by Sir Stamford Raffles who himself was very much a naturalist. From what i have come to understand the RMBR now exhibits the single largest collection of Southeast Asian fauna in the regiont, with at least 400,000 catalogued specimens. All of which are housed at RMBR on the NUS campus.
